Glance Anniversaries: 2022
Glance has set out to be innovative in ways that we serve our community.
From volunteering, to hosting donation drives, to providing haircuts to people that would otherwise not get one; we always have our servants heart ready and look at things from an innovative approach to see how we can be part of the solution.
This year, to celebrate our team’s individual salon anniversaries, we decided to shake things up a bit!
Each person, on their anniversary, will get to take the day off from Glance and spend half of the day volunteering at the business/nonprofit/organization of their choice!
At Glance, we feel serving our community is one of our highest priorities are we are all excited to see how many different places we can volunteer at and share the Glance love with!
The extra sprinkle on the top is that this is a PAID DAY OFF for our team members.
We feel the work we do in the community is just as valuable as the time we spend behind the chair, and it’s our mission this year to show it.
Celebrating ELEVEN years at Glance this January: Laura Rogers!
“Today I took some time to help organize at Little Lights Pediatric Therapy. If you've ever wondered what helps children’s skills evolve, games and toys geared for specific tasks are amazing! But it takes all sorts and lots of inventory for different skills and age-appropriate readiness. Today I helped the owner of Little Lights, Krisann, make sure all pieces were accounted for, not broken, directions copied, games photo’d and ready to be put in new shelves with a directory for kids to pick what they would like to play. If was a fun filled busy day reminiscing to our younger days!”
Kaitlin Rahrich is celebrating EIGHT years and Heather Pitsaladis is ringing in FIVE years this January at Glance!
“For our day of volunteering for our Glanceaverseries, we chose to spend our time at the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center. The Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center is a nonprofit that provides safe, family friendly hope, health, and healing to traumatized children and their families. They have locations in Bismarck and Dickinson. We spent our time deep cleaning the center and helping with donation letters. It was a privilege to contribute to such a great cause!”
Celebrating SIX years at Glance this April: Nicole McShane+ Jenna Galt!
Nicole had a great anniversary date hanging out with Jim Fetter, a loyal and loved guest at Glance. He volunteers regularly with Meals on Wheels and was thrilled to have Nicole join him for the morning!
Meals on Wheels has been servicing Bismarck since 1974. The delivery of the meals is a volunteer service, which helps keep meals affordable for their clients at $4.50 a meal.
They deliver frozen meals on Fridays to get the clients through the weekends and all the hot meals are served in reusable containers.
Jenna had a lot of fun spending her anniversary volunteer time at Closet (701)!
Closet (701) invites any individual or group to volunteer at their store. Sorting, pressing, & hanging clothing is their biggest need!
Jenna described her experience as humbling and fun and she was so impressed on how clean, organized, and well ran the store was!
Celebrating SEVEN years at Glance this JULY: Sierra Dauenhauer
This year on my 7 year Glansiversary, on July 2nd, it just so happened that the “Wish you were here ride” started. We rode motorcycle from the Canadian border to the Mexican border in 4 days. This ride was very important to me. We helped raised money and awareness for ND Suicide Prevention and Awareness coalition. This experience was one amazing adventure- but we did it with a big purpose.
Celebrating NINE years at Glance this August: Jessica Tergesen
Jess loves to paint and craft and make things with her kids and when she found out that the clients of HIT were loving some of the projects that she was doing she felt like this was the perfect opportunity to go and meet them, spend some time with them, and donate sensory items and seasonal crafts. HIT provides a variety of services to people with disabilities in western North Dakota
Celebrating SEVEN years at Glance this SEPTEMBER: Shelby Fisher
Shelby also spent her time volunteering with Meals on Wheels with our dear client Jim, like Nicole did. She enjoyed her time and learning all about the ins and outs of how its ran. She wants everyone to know that they are short staffed, and anyone interested in helping should contact the Burleigh County Senior Center.
Celebrating TWELVE years at Glance this October: Brittany Helfrich
Brittany celebrated her anniversary year by cooking Lasagna for family members and friends that needed a little pick me up - Lasagna is a labor of love and we are sure that all the recipients of this yummy treat loved it! Brittany regularly cooks Lasagna to donate to others thru a company called lasagnalove.org. Lasagna loves mission is “We believe that kindness, however big or small, is the key to strengthening our communities.” What a cool concept!
Celebrating ONE year at Glance this November is: Chloe Senn and Celebrating FOUR years at Glance in November is: Amanda Lanenga
These girls spent a couple of hours at the Terrace dancing with the residents there and hanging out and spreading JOY to them. They left with big smiles knowing that they brought love and light into these peoples lives. Thats what it is all about! The Terrace is an assisted living facility located in Bismarck.
Celebrating ONE year at Glance this November is: Rebekah Davis
Rebekah volunteered at the library. The friends of the library board and various committee members all got together to talk about the plan and budget for 2023. They planned the book sale and book sort dates and also brainstormed future projects for 2023. We can’t wait to see what fun projects they have in store for the community and think it is awesome that Rebekah is a part of the board!
We feel humbled and honored to have stepped out into our community in so many different ways this year to bring smiles and love and laughter to various people and places. We are so grateful to work for a company that values community outreach, volunteering, and making a difference in the lives of those around us.
Our 2022 anniversaries will be hard to beat, that’s for sure!
