Ministry on the Margins: A Haircut can Change a Life
Glance is a team of professionals dedicated to enriching the lives of those around us. One way that we have continually done this is by doing haircuts at Ministry on the Margins.
In 2023 we committed to going to do haircuts for the people they serve once a quarter.
To be able to directly impact people with the very skills that we use every day has such a profound effect on each and every one of us. We do not take lightly that a haircut can change a life. Whether you are experiencing homelessness, going through treatment, just getting released from prison, or have fallen on hard times; a haircut can give someone the boost in confidence they need to continue taking the steps forward in their life.
We are forever grateful to be able to serve others in this capacity.
According to their website ; Ministry on the Margins is a volunteer-based ecumenical ministry committed to supporting those who fall through the cracks during times of transition. We offer hospitality and coffee, a food pantry, prison-to-society support, an ecumenical Christian worship service, and many other ministries every week.
There are a lot of ways that you can volunteer and get connected to the community with Ministry on the Margins. Doing haircuts is a unique skillset that we posses that we can use to enhance the lives of those around us. What skills do you have that you can be using to have a profound impact on other peoples lives? We encourage you to explore what that looks like to you and your company.
“Volunteering at Ministry on the Margins is so impactful. It such a grateful group of people that appreciate the haircut more than we could ever understand. Its so fun to connect, listen to stories, and share pieces of our lives with the people that sit in our chair there. I do not take it lightly the weight that this work holds. Its special.” -Jess
